Review: SU:M37 Rose Cleansing Stick
As I mentioned in my last post, the first step of the 10 Step Korean Skincare Routine happens to be a two part process. The first part involves an oil-based cleanser (my favorite happens to be the Banila Co. Clean It Zero) and the second part involves a water-based cleanser, like the
SU:M37 Rose Cleansing Stick ($25).
The Product
Previously featured on the Today Show, this stick cleanser is one of the first of its kind. It claims to cleanse your skin without leaving a tight, squeaky feel. The solid cleanser works easily into a gentle lather that melts away impurities with the help of fermented damask rose extract and more than 90% natural ingredients. The formulation eliminates dryness without leaving any residue behind.
The Results
Though it is certainly unique, I don't believe anything about this cleanser stands out in particular besides it being in stick form. It's very gentle and effective but I don't believe it does anything better than any other water-based cleanser. The formula does not lather up as much as I'd like it to but it does cleanse my skin without overdrawing or leaving a squeaky feel, which makes it a particularly good pick for those with dry or sensitive skin. It ticks off all the cleanser criteria but I wouldn't say it goes above and beyond.
